They are extremists!?

Here's a little comic I saw on Reddit this morning.


The truth about veganism from my experience is that it's not an extreme decision, it's not as difficult as many would have you believe; the difficult part of it is dealing with people who are hostile towards you for the way you choose to live your own life. To some people it's still ok to belittle and mock others and their beliefs.

What does a vegan eat for breakfast?

This is pretty much what I have for breakfast most days, it's very quick and easy so here's the recipe.

Banana and Oat Smoothie
2 bananas
1 cup rolled oats/ porridge oats
1.5 cups of soya milk (less if you'd like it thicker)
1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter

Then just blend it, I prefer a hand held blender for convenience. Enjoy.

Vegan Brownies


150ml sunflower/ rapeseed oil
150g pitted dates/ apricots (soaked in boiling water)
150g wholemeal self raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 tsp cocoa powder (dissolved in 2 tbsp of hot water)
4 tbsp Sunwheel apple + pear/ pear + apricot spread
6 tbsp Billingtons Demerara sugar/ any unrefined cane sugar
6 tbsp soya milk
50g pecan nuts/ hazelnuts (crushed)
1 banana (preferably overripe)

Mix the oil with the dates/ apricots, add the flour and baking powder and mix. 

In a separate bowl mix the apple and pear spread with the cocoa powder in water, add the soya milk and mix. Mix these into the other bowl with the nuts and add in a mashed banana.

Cook for about 30-40 minutes at 160ºc/ 325ºf/ gas mark 3.
